Every Tuesday I publish a curated weekly guide to what's worth doing across Ventura County this weekend — events in Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Camarillo, Newbury Park, Ventura, Oxnard, Ojai, and the smaller towns in between. Each weekly issue includes a 35-second narrated video and 9 illustrated event posters with full detail. The full back catalog is below; the most recent issue is at the top.
What's covered
Every Tuesday at 9am Pacific I publish 9 events covering the upcoming Thursday-Sunday across Ventura County. The geographic spread is intentional: a typical issue includes 1-2 Simi Valley events, 1-2 Thousand Oaks/Westlake events, 1-2 Camarillo or Ventura events, 1 Ojai event, and 2-3 wildcards that could be anywhere in the county.
Format matches the LA edition: 9 illustrated event posters, a 35-second narrated video, full event metadata (date, time, venue, price, ticket link, parking notes), and a one-paragraph pick rationale per event.
Categories rotate: live music at Hi Hat Concert Lounge and Levity Live, theater at Conejo Valley Players and Rubicon Theatre, family events at the Reagan Library and Ventura Pier, food events at Camarillo's Old Town and Westlake Village, plus seasonal anchors (Strawberry Festival in May, Ventura County Fair in August, Conejo Valley Days in April).

Frequently Asked Questions
When does the new issue ship?
Every Tuesday at 9am Pacific. The current week's issue covers Thursday-Sunday. The previous week's issue stays live in the archive.
Which cities are included?
All of Ventura County: Simi Valley, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Newbury Park, Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Ojai, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Port Hueneme. A typical issue includes 1-2 events from the larger cities plus 2-3 wildcards from the smaller towns.
Do you cover sports?
Occasionally — high-school playoff games, Westlake/Calabasas/Oaks Christian football, Conejo Valley adult softball tournaments when they're notable. Pro sports get covered in the LA edition since the Dodgers, Lakers, and Rams all play in the LA basin.
Can I submit a VC event?
Yes. Email brian@cooperfamilyrealestate.com with subject "VC Event Submission". Include event name, date, venue, ticket link, and a one-sentence pitch.
Is this useful if I just moved to Ventura County?
Especially useful. New residents and relocators tell me the weekly issue is how they figured out what counts as a 'big weekend' here. The Strawberry Festival, Conejo Valley Days, Ventura County Fair, Oxnard Salsa Festival — these are the events that anchor the local calendar and they're not always obvious from a Google search.
